Hello to one and all and welcome to the "War Walks" section of G-2. This blog is an effort to keep friends and associates up to speed on what I am up to, continue conversations about history that we began on our various excursions, get a sneak peak of some upcoming G-2 trips and give my wife Anna and daughter Madeleine a place to go where they can see where dad is.
As many of you know, I am new to all this, so apologies in advance for any technical gaffs. As I learn I hpe to see this blog really improve and become a place where we can all talk about history, World War II or whatever else is on your mind. I will be leaving on the 24th to conduct some site inspections and lead G-2's first official tour. If you are interested, I'd encourage you to check back periodically. SO far, my plans include stops at Waterloo and Eban Emal and then off to the Ardennes and Berlin. As always, I'll be working with some of my friends to find the obscure, out of the way and overlooked. From Berlin we will be heading east to Warsaw. Along the way I'm planning on scouting out the Seelow Heights, Hitler's WOlfe's Liar Eastern Front headquarters, Tannenberg and Warsaw. I'll also be posting photos as we move along.
Then in APril, I'll be moving back to Normandy for our first leadership trip. Unlike the two day whirlwind on the BoB trips, this time we will spend a week in Normandy studying the campaign in detail. Best of all, we will be joined by Filthy 13 veterans Jack Agnew and Jake McNiece who will take up to their battlefields to discuss what they did. It sould be a great trip.
Hope to hear from you all as we move forward. Best to all,
Currahee!

We had our first conference call with the Normandy Leadership participants today and it went extremely well. The itinerary Chris has planned is superb.
I look forward to travelling with Jake and Jack and hearing their first hand accounts of DDay. I cant wait to see their actual landing sites and the bridges and locks they captured and defended.
I will be joining Chris in Poland next Wednesday and will add to the blog periodically. For you Bankers, don't let our October Bulge Leadership tour fill up without you. It may be the last time that seven members of the thrid platoon of Easy company travel together to Europe.
I also am excited about Compton and Mallarkey travelling with G-2 in September on the Easy company tour.
