Back to Bastogne

Hope all is well with everyone,
I'm back in the Ardennes and catching up on my postings. Our day on the island was, as always, fantastic. Got to catch up with our friends, enjoyed lunch across from Jack Agnew's WWII hang out and a drive around the battlefields in two jeeps, weapon's carrier and a half track. Another bonus was the Seaforth Highlanders vet who followed around in the jeep. Harold was a "wee" little man who was bursting with energy. Still had his bonnet and was happy to follow along. The weather, thankfully, was cooperative. Since everyone on the trip was able to enjoy the Liberation Parade-from what I hear the vet turn out was great-I went out the next night. Got to go to my first European pro-football match with Steph's son. Great seats to watch PSV Eindhoven beat Moscow. I learned all sorts of football chants and left with shirts and the obligatory scarf. It was super fun and definately something a bit different from the games at home.

Leaving Eindhoven was sort of a bummer, but we got off on time and were able to not only visit Maagraten, but also, for the first time pay our respects to an Easy Company man buried at Henri La Chapelle. It is something Steph and I always wanted to do, and were glad we were able to this time. Best part was that when we showed up the cemetery was preparing for a ceremony for the kids adopting graves. Lots more vets there, including some Belgian and British ones.

We will set off late tomorrow, before we do we are going to have a sit down video, Q&A session with Buck and Don as they are having some disagreements about what happened at Bastogne. If anyone has any questions, be sure to post them to the blog and I'll try to get them answered. Best for now.
Chris
